Abhimanue Kamboj: A Punjab-Born Talent Making Waves in Bollywood & Pollywood
Abhimanue Kamboj, also known as Goldy, is an emerging talent in the Indian film industry with a strong presence in both Bollywood and Pollywood. Born on December 23, 1992, in Guruharsahai, Ferozepur (Punjab), Abhimanue was passionate about acting from a young age. To give wings to his ambition, he pursued a Master’s in Acting from Panjab University, Chandigarh—an educational foundation that strengthened his craft.
His first breakthrough came unexpectedly during his postgraduate studies when he was cast in the Bollywood film Phantom (2015), directed by Kabir Khan. This role served as a gateway to the Hindi film industry and marked the beginning of a promising career. Following that, he landed a role in Sarbjit (2016), a biographical drama by Omung Kumar, where his performance earned him critical appreciation.
Abhimanue’s career continued to grow with an appearance in 5 Weddings, an Indo-American film that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and later released in Indian cinemas. His cross-cultural experience in this project added an international feather to his cap. Apart from Bollywood, he has left a strong impact in Punjabi cinema with roles in around five Pollywood films including the action-packed Sikander 2.
He also ventured into the web space with the gripping Punjabi crime series Gangland in Motherland, which further showcased his versatility. In 2022, he appeared in Good Luck Jerry, a Disney+ Hotstar release starring Janhvi Kapoor, playing the character Joginder. The film added another major Bollywood title to his growing filmography.
